First coffee break of the day. I'm almost done with the comfort blocks for one of my Tuesday group members. We have 3 ladies with husbands in end of life stages, it was time to get this project going...

I was given two blocks that had been incorrectly assembled, got those apart yesterday. I had one block almost done but I hadn't checked the directions and cut some of the pieces too big and so I was about an inch short for one last piece -- but I knew we still had yardage at our hostess. We laid out the blocks we had and it was decided to make a couple more blenders, so I was given more of the consistent yardage and have one brand new one cut this morning. All blocks are now at the same stage and I have two more seams each and then done.

I'm over achieving, the original goal was 4 blocks from each person, but the organizer decided we needed more for a better size/rectangle so this will be a total of 10 original, plus the 2 rework. Still have multiple hours before 10:00 am and needed a break so here I am. The organizer will be prewashing and then cutting sashing and borders and wants to get the top together before Tuesday but it all depends on everyone getting their blocks in.

I will be working on tracing a panto onto the front of a backing so I can sandwich it onto a quilt and then quilt it from the back, to get the panto pattern onto the quilt, on my mid arm. A technique I saw on Sew Very Easy.

I also have three quilts that need binding, but I'm not holding my breath.

I have all 35 of my 1 1/2" strips to sew together into one piece of yardage to use for my latest idea....more on that later if it works out.

    Thanks for hosting!

This was our grands' first week of school and my tail is draggin'! I do drop off and pick up for 2 families, so early starts and busy schedules (one is half day so an extra trip) Anyway, I put the last round on the pumpkin quilt top this morning. And neck straps on 5 more masks. Now what? ... I will think of something. Darn file won't upload again.

I have one giant block left to do in my Bunny Hill raw edge applique quilt. It’s a fox on a swing with a whole bunch of leaves. Also, I started working on the 2019 Designer Mystery Quilt from the Fat Quarter Shop. It’s not a mystery though since it’s from last year.

This is perfect timing for me for the VQW! I have the binding to complete on a Queen Size quilt. I need it done by Tuesday. I must make time in these busy days to finish it. I can do it. Today is out as I have a dr. appt. coming up soon today and that will take hours. Hopefully I will be able to see when I get home so I can get started on it.

2nd Coffee Break -- Comfort blocks done, time for a break and to switch back to the Frolic trimming.

I came up with a new term this morning as I was considering when to deliver my blocks, I could have snuck into her yard and put them on the garden table -- lol the Quilt Burgler breaks in and leaves fabric! I decided to wait until a more civilized time to avoid any unfortunate incidents that could leave a line about me in the police blotter...

I will practice more FMQ for the Lori Kennedy 25 weeks online class. I am really enjoying each week, but have a huge stack of practice pieces that I have started to bind and hopefully someone can use them for placemats or whatever!

I have company until this afternoon, but I'm in on Saturday and Sunday. I'm making more blocks for a new quilt and I plan to sandwich another top that I have. It's going to be super hot here this weekend, so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to get done. Fingers crossed.

I'm in for sewing, but maybe only one block....My daughter and her horse are going to Driving Nationals in October and she has fabric for me to make a skirt out of. For the big shows, Ladies Driving requires a hat, a full length shirt and a nice shirt/jacket. So that will also be fun!

    Thank you, Raggiemom!

I don't have much planned at this point, my sister's background fabric arrived this morning, a 50 yard bolt of Muslin that I'll need to cut her yardage off and then put away in storage and finish up my hexagon quilt. It was originally going to be full size, but I changed my mind and it'll be a large lap quilt. That said, I've got maybe four more full flowers to put on, a few half flowers and then I'll put that in my project bag until I get my sister's quilt done.

I'll be fiddling around with the organization of my quilting corner, too and practicing up on some more free-motion quilting. I'm trying to free motion at least once a day so I can get a little more fluid with my movements. I can't do much with my sister's quilt until the rest of her fabric gets here, I'm hoping it'll be in the mail and on the way by the end of next week so I can get it washed up and pressed before the next VQW. Tentative plan is to start working on it September 1st.
