sad news at our house tonight--the court decided that the adoption needed to be posted for 3 weeks and bumped the hearing to March 30---I'm not real impressed with my daughter-in-law's attorney! But we are going up still and plan to celebrate being together--as I told the DIL to tell our grandson--he's been our grandson since they got married 10 years ago!

I’m in! Even before I saw that this is a VQW, i decided I needed a sewing day. With all that’s happened this week with my BIL’s traumatic event, I have been busy busy decluttering to expend nervous energy.
Today our baby turned 18. We’re going out to lunch as a family tomorrow.
I’m sewing a crumb block to see if I like it. Yes and no. It’s somewhat addictive but takes an awful long time to sew tiny pieces ! I may just make it a doll quilt backing.
Will try to sandwich the grandbaby’s quilt and start binding.

Sorry the adoption isn't going as you planned, QST, but hope it all works out alright anyway.
Zozee, I do the same thing with my crumbs. I make a few blocks then put them away. One day there will be enough to join into a whole quilt, I hope. Congrats on your youngest's birthday.

QuiltingshortTimer, sorry about the frustrating delay in your DGS’s adoption...but I’m glad you are still going to celebrate.
I have been preoccupied with a room renovation the old part of our late 1700’s home in anticipation of having my two grandsons come visit this coming week (ages 5 and 3 from Key West). So far I have sanded, caulked and repainted the entire floor, painted ceiling, walls and window/door trims but it looks smashing.
I have a large quilt (87x108) on the longarm and hope to get it done this weekend...I’ve just been taking a few passes (edge to edge) a day here and there. I have my Bonnie Hunter mystery in a couple of piles so I really want to finish the last clue so I can start block assembly and I have a scrappy charity quilt in progress. I’ll be looking for your photos and accomplishments...happy sewing.

cjsews, good luck on your hunter star quilt, I am starting one myself, and I believe that thinking in reverse is the challenge in pp.

What I am planning for myself today is working on the hunter star pattern. It will be a scrappy with the colors of purple/lilac and beige, that's the top. The back is a pieced purple and black of 6 inch squares. My problem is setting those scrappies together so that I can see the star. Well let me piece some more stars to get my direction

I am ""! I did start yesterday, February 14, by making blocks for a square dance quilt. and cut 20 more today. Then begin rooting through my stash to make kits for 3 baby quilts all to be finished in the next two months. Last task is to put background strips on my quilt exchange blocks.

I ended up finishing the binding on a quilt I need to turn in on Monday night at guild meeting. It's a charity quilt I made for a teenage boy. Our guild donates quilts to Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a charity that makes twin beds for children in need. I hope it looks like a quilt a teenage boy would like?
