For sure I will join, on and off during the weekend. I am about 2/3 around the hand stitching on the binding of a baby quilt, I really want to finish. My binding is only 2" and I have to really "pinch" hard to hold it in place while I stitch, so can't just sit down and do the whole thing at once. Look forward to seeing everyone's projects.

I'm in, should have been sewing this morning but was asked to do a extra shift at work (dreaded inventory time). Will border the memory quilt that became a UFO do to its age, then sandwich and start quilting this weekend. Have the fabric washed and pressed just need to cut the strips and sew. The borders are going to be a nice dark navy blue and keeping with the plaid theme putting green buffalo plaid on the back.

Will probably do some work on the forever WIP, my DH's GFG. I'm working on the sides to fill them in so the quilt will be a smooth rectangle. Only about 200 more hexi's to go.

Will also be blocking a Poncho I knitted from the Knit Purl Hunter KLA site - Match Play, I started it in October finally have both sides done and ready for the neck after its blocked. So it might be ready to wear this spring if it ever gets here!

This breaks my heart, recycler! I'm so sorry for your family's tragic loss.

I love that turtle, Boston! I think you did the right thing in changing the background to have better contrast. You don't want that beautiful turtle to get lost in the background.

Thimblebug, have you ever tried holding the binding with clips? I was late to get on the clip bandwagon because the high price of Clover Wonderclips (the first to come out) was ridiculous. Now you can get generic ones on Amazon and Etsy... direct from China and probably exactly the same. They work great and you won't have to pinch.

Boston1954, I like the second one better too for your turtle, But I like the 1st fabric for the colors.

I made some progress today. I sewed binding on one of my ufo throws. I went to a lqs and found background fabric for my Winnie the poo baby quilt. (While completing a mini shop hop, only 2 stores). I also found and wash fabric to finish another ufo baby quilt. I only needed 1 more strip to finish the binding and attach to finish this project. Tomorrow I plan to cut and make my 8” block(s). And find material in my stash and do anther UFO quilt binding. So that’s 1/2 way there for binding this weekend.

Hi Cindyb, I just do all the cutting for all 4 quilts at one time, then do the blocks for all of them, then make the tops, all 4 and then sandwich them all at one time, etc. By the time you finish the bindings on them, you stand up and say,
Yippie, I finished 4 quilts today!!"

Yes, these are all charity quilts. Great way to use up fabric quickly to reduce stash or, in your case, not to add to it.

battleaxe--I hope the doctor figures out what's going on for you.

cashs_mom--Sorry about your ankle!

JJBlaine--hope the wrist heals soon so you can use the rotary cutter.

quiltingvagabond--I wondered where you were this weekend!

recycler--I'm so sorry for your family tragedy.

boston1954--I'm in the minority because I like the top color better but either will work.

Those headed to Pigeon Forge, I hope you have a wonderful time.

I was down quilting at 5:45 this morning. If I was home I wouldn't be out of bed that early but for some reason I get right up and get to work when I'm on retreat. Made some good progress today. Tomorrow I hope to work on a feathered star. We'll see if my machine is interested in doing that or not. Sometimes it doesn't like to work on small pieces. And neither do I!

Not too bad on my VQW so far. So far, I have completed another dozen strippy triangles, and just need 16 more. Unless I later decide I need an additional 40.

I'm working on BH's Fair and Square. The original is 30 blocks, set 5x6, with a fairly narrow border. I was thinking I might only do 20 blocks in a 4x5 grid, and do a much wider scrappy border. I'm going to QAYG, so I'm going to wait until I have the 20 blocks quilted and assembled, then see if it "tells" me if it needs more blocks.

Can I hear a "woohoo!" for planned procrastination?, lol.
