This is my first time onboard so it's going to be a bit lengthy. I'm known for my rambling and chatty pattiness.

Julia and Iceblossum, I'm sorry for your pain and will join you. Been a rough year, I've got long haul on top of autoimmune, OA, FMS and others. This year mom left. Then my baby girl, 24 y/o, biz partner and best friend left. She married and moved across the country (up north). We were very close, biz declined, severely. I'm left with my boys, DH and DS who's 26 as well as a psychiatrist and therapist. Hopefully we can work through some of this. At least the loss and acceptance of covid forever. I should clarify, while I don't have any "lung disease" (that they can find) I can't get off of the oxygen, my life altered radically. Left with Small Airway Disease and Chronic Pulmonary Failure.

All that to say, holy crow, I'm so happy ya'll are here. I don't want to be alone with the boys this weekend. I much prefer ya'll and hope we can get loads done. Because of this weekend I made a list, no way this will get done in one weekend... even if DH helps with the room.

Quilt/Sewing

To Do List

General Sewing

Front door curtain

Start with sewing room?

Wash walls

sponge paint with white to lighten

make workbench

remove books

remove computer

reorganize fabric by color,

cottons

batiks and hand paints

landscape

put everything into the closet

Will glass bookcase hold folding book case? Put where puter was.

Hand Work

Piecemakers calendar from 2000, train hand applique.

Dear Jane-just half the triangles, center's pieced.

By Machine

Kaison throw-red sport fabric?

Kaleigha throw-pink

Begin my design - 2.5 minis

Bind snowball - paint fabric?

Bind Frogs – paint fabric?

If all I get done is to work on the hand applique, calendar quilt, I will be very happy. Been working on it with a friend for 20+ years. Oh me, has it been 22, sigh, yeah it's first.

So sorry Julia and Iceblossom. Hope time and quilting help.

I will be repairing my "Covid Crisis" wall hanging -- my cat got to it when it was down for a small change and I have to replace a border. That involves taking off some appliqués and beads, but it will look good once it's up. Lucky I still had enough of the border fabric to replace it.

Raggiemom, thanks for the encouragement of the Virtual Quilting Weekend!

We're moving. Downsize is critical. Have sorted fabric to what I want to take and "the rest".

Today, some Q friends are coming to make kits for cuddle quilts. We're making pillowcase and infant Q kits. So far I've made 7 pillowcase kits=7 yds. They'll be here in ~15 minutes.

And they're encouraged to shop at $4/yd.

Can't meet the rules on QB to offer it for sale as I have no way to accept charge. So can't offer it on QB.

Thanks for hosting again, Heather, love these weekends. Julia and Iceblossom - my heart goes out to both of you.

I am in the process of re-organizing my sewing corner. The way I had it before worked, but I was never fully happy with it and then I finally broke down and got some new thread and thread stand this week and immediately knew when I put it together that I was going to have to make some big changes. I was able to get the majority of it done last night but had to quit so I could rest. I still have to re-hang my rulers, wrangle all my cords with Velcro strips, tidy up, give the floor a good sweep and I think I'll be done.

I also finally put all my WIPs into a huge storage bag, so this weekend I am going to be putting all the batting into the bag, too, I've just got to chase it down.

I ordered some mint green fabric at the beginning of the week for my hexagon quilt along with some good paper scissors, I was hoping they would be here before the weekend but sadly, they didn't make it in time before my mailman started his route, so now I have to wait until Tuesday for them.

Once I get all that done, I'll be able to sit down and actually do some sewing. I'll be putting the border on my nephew's quilt so I can finally call that done enough I can put it into my WIP bag. I'll be working on my hexagons and at some point, I'm going to start a fall table quilt that has been haunting me now for quite a few years. I decided not to go with the bright fall colors that everyone gravitates to when they work on fall items, I'm going to use dark, more muted colors.

Busy weekend ahead, but when they're extra long like these, I can get so much more done.

Julia, sorry to hear of your lost. I pray you have many hours of sewing/quilting relaxation to help you through this time.

Good weekend everyone!!!

My sewing projects over the next few days. ( #1) Complete or almost complete BHMQ 2020 top. (WIP). I have to cut and sew 10 more blocks on step #6, complete 95% of steps #3 & #4. Then I can start on step #7 - putting it together, yea. (2) I’m starting a beginner and ender Christmas project (twin size I think). I will figure that out later. (3) quilt my Raggedy Ann top (UFO). (4) bind a heavy twin quilt (I call it the cow quilt for my niece). The top is an easy pattern from Jenny of Missouri star quilt company. The backing is a heavy, soft & furry minky in large brown, black and white spots. (4) Sew a set of blocks to make 1-2 tops for my guild for project Linus. (5) quilt a disappearing 9-patch throw (UFO). (6) sew 1-2 borders & quilt 1 boy quilt. It’s a panel. (6) And lastly download the latest update for my quilting machine and use the above quilts to practice with the new update. I will not complete all projects…. But progress is progress. I consider that a win win.
happy quilting/sewing everyone.

Sorry for your losses and other issues Julia, Iceblossom and Wendy. I hope this weekend sewing will help keep your mind off your worries

I have started a Chubby Chicks baby quilt and need to start another baby quilt with lambs. Two new GGBabies coming soon. If I can get those done, I will be happy

I have binding cut for 3 quilts for veterans. Then Tuesday headed out for a week long retreat, so I need to get projects ready for that too.

snooze2978--so glad your sewing mojo returned! Sounds like you've gotten quite a bit done.

juliasb--I am so sorry about your mother. I hope this weekend helps you in some way.

Iceblossom and WendyMcD--hope the VQW helps you as well.

Railroadersbrat--sounds like you have a busy weekend planned.

I prepped some wool applique projects today and picked up my sewing room a little. It is amazing how quickly it becomes a mess! Now it's time for the Yankees so will check back in tomorrow

I'll be sewing off and on. The garden has exploded.😛 Canning and freezing galore, but so worth it when you can enjoy your bounty all winter. I will be working on some more reusable bags. I will check in from time to time, I love to see everyone's progress.
Everyone enjoy. Sewing and quilting is my therapy when life gets rough, i hope and pray it is for Iceblossom and juliasb this weekend too.
