That would be great to have fabric in the Walmart stores again. I would love this to be true.

Only one of our Wal-mart's had a McDuck, and it's been gone for a few years.

We didn't have a full time clerk--------she was always off doing something else, mostly in the home goods sections. Had to call for her to cut fabrics.

When our Super WM opened maybe 5-7 yrs ago they had a McD....only kept it for about a year then had something else in for a very short time......then remodeled and used that space for refrigerated items and expanded deli section. BTW our Super WM, seems to be getting more fabric in and nice selections and the prices have gone up. Still glad we have our fabric section.

If you have afabric dept. in your local WalMart Store, feel fortunate. But...better not soley depend on it staying. I hope that the rumor of some fabric depts. coming back is true! It hurt many many people when they removed the depts. from the Stores here. We haven't even had precuts. I am a close 15 yr friend of the woman that ran the fabric dept here & she still works at WalMart, but she said they have no plan of returning the fabric dept. in the Yukon Store. There were petitions out the wazoo asking them to please return it here in Yukon & Mustang Oklahoma. Did no good. People emailed them daily & called & still did no good. I know for a fact that there has been a lot of people that now refuse to shop in there since the fabric was taken out. I really do hope that they will come to their senses & return it. There will be rumors all over about WalMart & what they might do. All anyone can do is wait it out & hope for the best.

I think that was the most stupid thing they did when they took material out of wal mart. I live in a small town and wal mart is the only place for people to shop. We have alot of elderly and they get all there notions there also. So what are they to do.

I agree, as a newer quilter I love their charm packs, they are cheap enough I was able to buy quite a few and it really helped me figure out what patterns and colors I need to look for in fabric. I haven't washed anything yet, but it seems good quality, and the prices/shipping are great.

I'm working on a quilt for my neice with material from Walmart. When I took it to my guild meeting last night, a couple of the ladies couldn't believe I got it form wal-mart. A few were heading off there today to see what they had! Also, they had a few batiks that were a dollar a fat quarter. nice thickness and the back looks the same as the front. I was impressed!

We still have one WalMart that has fabric on the bolt, but I swear, they have had the same selection for the last six months. They had a lady that managed the department some time ago. She told me that she ordered in lots of fabric at discounted prices. That was usually the $1 a yard table. Loved to go in and find bargains. They monitored her special purchases and she said they always made money on it. Now although I would like to support the fabric department it is just boring. Kind of a self fulfilling prohecy, hope they realize why they don't sell much fabric but I kind of doubt it.
