Love the chicken quilt..those blocks are really cute!!!

K..great idea on the saw blade for the little ones. I love your stairway!

I use the triangles (don't know what you call them), like Izy for the smaller stuff and then sometimes I go to the pond and cut cane...its even cheaper than the saw blades....its free! I wrap it with plastic wrap just to make sure it doesn't damage the quilt in some way and then tie a little hanger to the center..it works just fine.

Basically, you can hang it however you want

this is the main reason why i learned to run flexible wire or plastic all along the back of the quilt with tabs to hold the odd shape and then i just sew on the sleeve for the shows.
I would love to know more about how you do that. Can you show pictures? What kind of plastic or wire do you use and how to you attach it to the back?

I have a 48" wooden hanger mounted in the living room. So any wall hangings I make are 36-48" wide. LOL

I don't have a picture of it, but it is the compression kind - 2 pieces of wood with wooden knobs/screws. The back piece is mounted to the wall with screws. The quilt is placed between the 2 pieces of wood and round wooden knobs are screwed in tight enuf to hold the quilt.

Bought it in Shipsewana / Amish country. There's a wide assortment of sizes available.

jdavis, your chicken quilt is perfect!! Love it!
Loretta,

Thank you; it was a pattern from a kit, but I selected my own fabrics.
