I am actually looking forward to them getting fabric - while it may not be LQS quality - times are tough and they do have some nice material. Let's not forget all the other stuff that goes along with it - batting, zippers, thread, scissors, rotary cutters, etc. I have gotten Fiskar scissors there for less than half of what JoAnn Fabrics sells them for!

Does anyone in denver know if the Walmarts are getting fabrics? I live in the boonies and need to use a cart to get around a store. Walmart would certainly help things out. Makes me smile to think aboutit.

We did not loose our fabric dept but it was downsized. Now they are enlargeing it again. I am glad as it was the only place to buy fabric in our little town.

since our wallmart remodled its store they have less fabric to choose from,a smaller space and no one to wait on you. Have to go all over the store to find someone to cut a piece of fabric.!

I bought the perfect piece of fleece for a backing for my granddaughter's quilt from Walmart. I only buy quilt shop quality fabrics for my tops but after reading the posts I think I should check out Walmart and Joann's again and see if they can pass the "feel" test.

so far none of our WalMarts are going that route....once gone, fabric is going to stay gone is what I heard. I had good luck with some fabric there - and others, sadly disappointing.

I shop online now for the most part....or go to my LQS. Gotta support them when I can....LQSs have a tough time keeping open in today's economy. Wish I could support them more, but when the price is $7.95 a yard and up, it gets a little tough.
