It is sold by the yard or the spool in many ribbon/notion sections of fabric stores, etc. I buy the 1/4" kind usually.

I bought a lot from Dollar Tree and Dollar General here in NC! I've used different sizes with success but it needs to be cotton :)

I've used both clothes line(found at local hardware store) and cording used in upholstery that I got at Joanne's. Your results will vary depending on how thick and how stiff the cording is. I have been using some tobacco cording for my bowls, my sister lives in Kentucky and brought some to me. It's on the softer more flexible side but works great. have fun

I've found it by the irons, at Wal-mart.

I found mine in the hardware section of Walmart ... it was simple clothesline.

A LQS sells the same thing, possibly bought at Walmart or Kmart and repackaged, for a lot more.

I had trouble finding it too. Finally found it at the dollar store (the ones that are over a dollar). Just keep checking I saw it several more times after I got my first one. Hardware store and Walmart finally got it in after my first shopping trip.
