Watching Movies

I keep mine on mainly for the noise too... Then stop and listen if something that requires my attention. Also, the noise of the tv helps mask the noise my neighbor makes working outside (mowing, splitting wood, etc). The neighbor's noise makes my dogs go nuts. They think: "Intruder Alert! Gotta bark -- LOUD and LOTS! Since several of them will go straight to the fence and bark at him incessantly, I have to bring them all inside when he is working.

I pretty much don't watch movies and I don't watch daytime tv. The tv in my sewing room is situated so you have to turn around if you're at the sewing machine to see it. It's right next to the computer though so I can watch tv while I'm doing stuff on the computer.
When I do watch a movie it's generally in the family room on the giant tv instead of on my little tv.

You must be watching New Jersey and New York. I only watch Orange County and Atlanta. I think they're slightly less crazy.

I mostly listen as I sew. I also keep working during all those commercials. Though my TV is in my living/great room I have my sewing cabinet in the studio facing the TV.
I have trouble having my back to a doorway when sewing. Probably due to the type of patients I dealt with.

Listening here, too.
Jeopardy! Since I TiVo new programs, Jeopardy is perfect: I can re-listen to an episode several times in a row to "hear" the questions I missed during deep concentration paid to my quiltmaking.
Judge Judy. The incredible stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me.
Any Law & Order with Jerry Orbach. I've seen every episode so many times, I know exactly what's happening. Don't need to TiVo these: there's almost always an episode playing somewhere.
NCIS. The older episodes are in the same category as Law & Order.

I have the TV on most of the time when I'm in my sewing room. I had 4 children many years ago and learned to tune them out. Proof reading this, I still have 4 children--they just don't live with me anymore. lol I have always done 2-3 things at the same time. If I just watch TV, I usually fall asleep.
