If/When hand-piecing a block, I pin a lot to match the stitching lines.

When machine stitching, I don't pin that much when doing the blocks.

However, I do pin the borders.

I usually will mark the borders before attaching them to the main part of the quilt - and then I pin the borders to the main part.

I rarely pin. Never found the need. --------But I always double check my seams.

I don't pin much, usually only when adding borders or other long strips. Even then I only pin about every 4-6 inches. It's just enough to keep me from being too far off at the end.

I don't normally pin. Sometimes in paper piecing when the seams are bit bulky, and on long borders of course, but that is about it!

I pin everything!!!!! I think it comes from being a seamstress and teacher. Pin - Pin - Pin. Sure can't hurt.

I was watching Eleanor Burns on tv one day, and she said to hook one seam against the other- I never really realized that it matters which way they are pointing. I mean I knew that they should fit together better if one seam allowance goes one way and one goes the other. But if the top one is facing toward the top, and the bottom one the other way, they fit right against each other. I stopped pinning recently after I tried this...

Doesn't this gum up your needle? It sounds easy, but ...?
Apparently Elmer's School Glue is not supposed to gum up. They do say to get a tip for your glue that only allows a very small little bit to come out... I should try the glue stick, I have lots of them already, not any elmer's hanging around..
