These are the quilts I am looking to create. I have gone to several auctions and watched these quilts sell for high prices. I can't see paying for someone else's work! I want to make my own!!! Thanks and nice meeting you!

You will love it here. I feel the same way you do--why pay for someone else's work when you can make it yourself.

The orion's star/ hunter's star is super easy if you do paper piecing... and even just regular piecing, and it's beautiful. Look up the pattern on quilterscache.com.
the double wedding ring is tougher because of the curved piecing. It's beautiful, but a pain to do... I've started 3 of them and gave up because it was taking too ong, haha.
There are instructions for te dwr in the tutorial section on this site :)

I had an antique double wedding ring quilt on my bed for many years. Someday I will recreate it. Just not quite ready yet.

There is a really easy way to make a double wedding ring using "Quiltsmart" preprinted interfacing to make the arcs. I have done this in the past, it's still time consuming but worth the finished product. I stumbled across some last fall at a LQS and bought enough for a king size quilt. The companys web site www.quiltsmart.com has everything you need.
