And domestic also means "in my house", as in: not an industrial machine. Yes, some of us have industrial machines in our houses, but I think it means just regular machines most of us use.

Without a picture of the fabric I can't be sure what would work well.
I would definitely find complimentary fabrics to go with it.
In a similar situation I found fabrics that read as solid in the colors of my print and let the print be the center log of a three strip rail fence.
Another possibility is using the strips and your chosen complimentary fabrics to create the woven look design. Don't remember the name to look it up.

I love this "Simply Woven" quilt from Moda Bake Shop. It looks a lot harder than it actually is. You just have to be careful with cutting measurements when sub-cutting your blocks. (Yes, I've got one that is 1/4 inch off. But I put in on the outside edge, so it doesn't join anything and you can't tell.)

I am new to QAG so I have collected 4 different, but similar colors, jelly rolls and some larger pieces for borders, to make a sort of rail fence design, one quilted block at a time. I found an easy for me way to put them together and l the first one (as I was learning) only took a couple weeks from beginning to gifted. Can't beat that. When I do start the next one I am going to post a tutorial on this board if anyone wants to try the easy method I developed for me.
