What do you love/What do you not love..

I'm the same - I try and convince myself its because I have enjoyed making the quilt so much I don't want it to come to an end!!!!!

I don't mind cutting the fabric. I enjoy sewing the pieces together and watching it come alive and take the shape that I envisioned.
But I really really dislike squaring up the blocks. I'm making a Friendship Star. It's going to have 42 blocks (I think). Each block has 1 solid square and 8 HST. I detest squaring up those HST's before I sew them all together to form the block. And it's putting a damper on my quilting this weekend. I keep taking breaks. I wish I could hire someone to square my squares!

Gathering fabrics is probably the part I most dislike. Mostly because I live in an area that has few quilt shops and fabric stores and I usually have to do a lot of traveling to find all the fabrics that I need to put a quilt together. I love the rest of the process, even sewing bindings on by hand. Hand work is so relaxing for me.

I used to dislike selecting fabrics because I would get overwhelmed by the options. Now I just buy from a collection. My closest shop has many fat quarter packs that make selecting fabric much easier. If I need yardage, I'll take a fat quarter pack and select the fabrics for yardage from that. Plus, the saleswomen are very friendly and happy to help. Works for me!
Now if someone would just sew on the boarders for me. That's the part that trys my patience.

I like the whole process, but I especially like using all the fabric I have with nothing left over. I will sew little pieces together in order to get the size I want.
I have a large stash but I am a very frugal quilter and try not to waste anything.

What I dislike is ironing, especially the backs. I don't have much room and it's not convenient to work in any other room. Plus my ironing board is too wobbly, but I can't spend the money for a new one right now. I can't believe how expensive those got...$50-60 for one that looks sturdy.

I made a pressing board that sits on my table beside my machine. It is made from a piece of plywood and covered with batting and cotton duck material. It is the best tool in my room. It is just 1 foot by 2 feet.
