I go along with "an original made by" It takes nothing away from your work. If it is not all hand made, you might find a picky person to point out that there is machine sewing on it.

This is a topic my mom and I had some 25+ years ago when both her and I were sewing crafts and selling at craft shows. She was VERY firm that I was to classify my items sewn on my sewing machine as HANDMADE and not homemade, even if crafted on the sewing machine. She even quoted something to back up her lecture to me, but I don't remember from what. Seems to me the homemade was reserved for cooking!

To me there is two ways to acquire a quilt - either buy it or make it - so to me, if I did not buy it is handmade! Or as Havplenty said, sometimes you can find a quilt that says handmade but it was made by someone in a foreign country.

It is hand made and that is what you say. It is not hand quilted and your not saying that. There is a huge difference between hand made and hand quilted. Have fun raffeling it off and don't worry about it, i am sure it will be beautiful........

I agree totally with Nancy. It's not factory made; so I feel you're safe in saying handmade. I wouldn't go in the weed with what was hand versus machine stitched. Either way, your hands made it happen. Good luck and I know the winner will be thrilled!

How about:

I figure it was my hands that cut out all those pieces and sewed them together, and my hands that guided it through the sewing machine to do the free motion quilting. What do you think? How do you differentiate between hand made and machine quilted hand made?

I agree - how about if you just leave the "for" off?

It is definitely handmade. You put in a lot of time and effort with your hands.

To me hand made is something you put together. It was not store bought. It will be hand made no matter how you put it together.
