One thing the shop/shops will want to know is how many weeks of classes for the project. Students usually take about three times longer to make something then it takes me; at least double the time it takes you.

I would take any class that would give me a "completed" project. I hate taking a class that I only get part way through and then the class is over. The projects never get done!!!! If the course has to go over a couple of classes that's find with me. I just need a completed project when I'm done the course.

It is beautiful! If the class was affordable, I'd take one in how to alter a jacket I already owned to look like that.

Our local Hancock offered several types of classes...quilting, clothing construction, crafts, etc. They had asked me to do a class on making a bathing suit...then head office closed down that shop. :(

Point here is, dont' limit yourself to LQS....look into other fabric stores, and also adult education classes

I like the jacket...I am another one that prefers a longer length, but that shouldn't be too hard to accomodate. ;)

    Good luck...and keep us updated!!!!

That's a really good point. Since I'm not doing this for the money, I think I could arrange for "free" or low cost working sessions.

Thanks for your feedback. I moved from MN to OR about 2 years ago. I still miss MN.

This was really helpful. I don't try to be the fastest, I want to enjoy the process, but I realize many have problems completing projects. I don't know if it because they get frustrated or distracted.

I live in Dallas, and if you have been into Greenbaums or Grandma's Attic in the past, I probably waited on you. Have you been here very long?
