WHAT DO YOU THINK OF

I use the QAYG method as taught in the book Crazy Shortcut Quilts.
Since learning this method a couple of years ago, this is the only way I make them.
My blocks sizes have varied from 8" to 16".. but I would not hesitate to do a 24".
I started doing QAYG as I found it VERY frustrating to shove so much fabric into the arm's width of my standard size sewing machine.
It seems that if something that I enjoy gets so frustrating, it's not fun anymore!

This is my first attempt at posting pictures. There are 3 of the 18 blocks I've gotten to this point. I will finish each of them with dark background fabric strips. Then I will make 18 more in the reverse coloring. I plan on using 35 blocks for a quilt for my brother who has an interest in chairs. All of the centers will be chairs. It was difficult to find this many chair fabrics, especially with light backgrounds. I think you can see the straight line quilting that was done on each strip.

This is a quilt as you go quilt that I made as a wedding gift. It worked out very well. A log cabin quilt also works well as a quilt as you go.

I did this quilt with the QAYG... Fun n Done method. I combined the two styles together with the 10 minute block pattern.
Made this quilt for my bosses daughter's wedding in November. She and her new hubby are very outdoors people and live in Wyoming.
I kept a journal of it... 95 hours. I started it in Mid April and finished it in Mid August. I took my time and sometimes I went weeks without touching it.
Only problem I had was getting the seams to line up correctly when sewing the rows together. It's 95" x 95".
