I still have trouble coloring outside the lines. No way Michaelangeo but I bet he could do a Great Quilt as well. I don't think he had to "work at it."
I see and hear this same person when I do anything. Years and years and she just will never "be quiet." Intellectually I know better but my HEART .....and I try so hard to "Please" and I really do want to be a quilter - to do it right - to obey those rules as I do like the "beautiful quilts" and I know if I do follow most of the "rules" I will have better seams, piecing, quilting and .... quilts.
If "you know you will have better seams, piecing, quilting....quilts", you are comparing your art work to some one else's art work. That is a well planned recipe for discouragement. Michaelangelo didn't care, if they noticed he used the faces of workmen and neighbors, on the Sistine Chapel, and neither should we.

I wish she would be quiet sometimes.

I have a quilt police officer(hubby). He is a perfectionist,my love my friend. I started to make something the other night and he picked me right up on it. Of course I did it my way and I was wrong. Don't you just love it?

I decided the teacher knew best and I find I still put alot of yellow in my quilts. I don't remember what the QP looked like, but I will remember her words for ever,
By the way I am also fond of sea turtles.
I am always out of yellow. The second quilt is the one that brought out the quilt police. LOL
Yellow is happy. I painted my farm house yellow.
