I'm looking into getting a dry iron. I'm tired of trying to clean out all the holes from starch. I don't care about steam. I don't really use it anyway. If I need some water I just use a spray bottle. I want a nice smooth plate with no holes.

Search ebay. That's where I found my old dry iron. It also gets hot enough to scorch on the cotton setting. Most new irons don't even get hot enough to scorch on the linen setting.

I have a Black and Decker Digital Advantage. It works pretty well for me.

I have a Rowenta that I got refurbished, I think on Amazon, so it was cheaper. I have had it for a couple of years now and have had no problems, and it is the best iron I have ever owned. Great steam.

i use a $12 black and decker...has worked very well for going on 4 years now...my $139 iron only lasted a little over 3 months, i will stick to my cheapy irons any day. i hate the new irons that turn themselves off...when i want it hot i want it hot...my b & d stays hot, is not real heavy and so far has earned it's keep

I have a cheap and light one I picked up last year. It was only ten dollars. It does the trick, when it goes I will do the same thing again. The more expensive ones are so heavy and I do not like the heaviness of them. Just my thought.

try goodwill went the other day looking for sheets and found a brand new iron. it had never been used for only 8.00 it has auto shut off and steam and also self cleaning. I tried it and it works great. I use it in my sewing room. I forget to turn my iron off sometimes. My rowenta I have had for over 12 years and it still works great I use it in my living room. where I cut my fabric and have my ironing board. I can remember to unplug that one.
