Quilter's Dream is my favorite. I also like Hobbs 80/20. I do have a lot of Warm and Natural, but honestly, it's not as warm as a partial poly. I loved Joann's Soft and Crafty extra loft when it first came out. It was actually thicker than the advertised 1/2-3/4 inch. Now it isn't even half an inch and I won't buy it again. I've complained to Joann's corporate a couple of times - no change, so I won't even bother again. They've lost a customer by not only cheapening a product, but not even have it live up to its claimed minimal thickness. I also make sure everybody knows they are getting gypped.

I like the warm and natural. I stock up on all sizes with Joann's has a sale and / or coupon!

Here's another vote for Warm and Natural or Warm and White for machine quilting. For hand-quilting, Mountain Mist.

I ususally do the Joann's thing with a coupon BUT they just had an October sale at Connecting Threads - I got a queen sized Hobbs poly down for under $10 !! I wanted to use that for a Christmas gift Quilt that U thought needed to be fluffy. I figured it was certainly worth $10 to try it. From now on I am waiting for the internet sales for batting - I hate going into Joann's and don't want to pay LQS prices for batting - just fabric !!

I've used Mountain Mist from Wal Mart for my wallhangings and small works. { I think that's what it's called} and I like it really well.
For my bed size quilts, I sent them out to be quilted by LA, so I really have NO clue what they use. I do know it's a brownish color and very warm.

I carry several types of batting and buy wholesale when I can, but sometimes the shipping is outrageous. Joanns coupons are great when I can get a full roll.

My favorite is Quilter's Dream Cotton.I use the mid loft. I love the way it feels and the way it looks when quilted. I get it at my LQS, but is not terribly expensive. I sewed together some scraps for a small quilt by using zigzag stitch and could not tell where the seams were, even though I had done the sewing. Great stuff.

I prefer using the Hobbs Polydown the one with the duck on the front and I have found the cheapest place to far is King'sMen Quilting Suppy at www.kmquiltingsupply.com and buy it buy the case. Queen size 6 per case and king size 4 per case. Even with shipping costs added to them I have not found a cheaper place yet.

Hobbs 80/20 is good if you are using your sewing machine to do the quilting.
