What is the primary purpose of a sewing retreat?

Forgot to mention we usually have a game or two of dominoes going on in the evening. Some enjoy sewing and others like games...there is also a TV to watch in the sitting area. Sometimes the dominoes get a bit cut throat and everyone has a good time!

I have gone with my guild for 12 yrs now. For me, as with others, it is the lack of anything domestic calling my name It is the commraderie and the chance to sew until my tush says "go shopping" or "go get something to eat" Our retreat costs less than $200 for the hotel room (2 people-- 3 nights) and we all bring food for Saturday night

I have found that you have an opportunity to get to know others in a way you never would otherwise. Additionally, it is a mini vacation, a break from day to day responsibilities. I also make progress on projects and think it's fun to see what others are working on.

I would love to go to a retreat. My crazy schedule doesn't seem to lend itself to availability at the times retreats are offered. Any time I've found out about one it was when I already had something else going on that weekend. Maybe I'll hear of one this summer. The thought of a beach retreat sounds awesome!
