Two second hand books which I have just added to my collection were bought on trade me for $8.00 NZ total.
I am thrilled with both of these!!

'Drunkard's Path' an easy no pins technique by Anita Murphy

'Happy Trails' variations on the classic drunkards path pattern by Pepper Cory

Both have wonderful pics of antique and contemporary quilts, loads of great instructions and tips and all the templates to copy from in the back. I could not believe my luck at getting these two fantastic books.

I have a hand project on the go using this pattern working with some very pretty fabrics OklahomaSuzie sent me some time back. Might be a while until I post pics as it is a project for Dr's waiting rooms and such but it is surprising just how much you can get done that way.

I have been reading all the posts and enjoying the tips and ideas for a few years, and have not had anything to contribute until now. I just purchased Happy Endings by Mimi Dietrich and The Quilter's Edge by Darlene Zimmerman. I had been checking out The Quilter's Edge from the library from time to time, and I thought it was time to just own it. It is a great book.

Just last night I purchased this one:

"The Quilter's Album of Patchwork Patterns: 4050 Pieced Blocks for Quilters"

I don't have it yet. But my understanding is that it is an encyclopedic reference for quilt blocks. I have the other one about 5500 quilt blocks, but it does not have the research that the new book does, only the blocks. I like knowing the names and history of the blocks.

Then, before that: every cat quilt book I could find!

I still have this one for sale for $10 plus shipping if anyone wants it. Check out my post from about a month ago:

recommended.
The first one has all the blocks you can imagine in every size you need.
I know there's quilterscache but this book has different blocks and easy
to browse. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. ;-)
The 'Sew One and You're Done' - they have some nice blocks and as the
title suggests you make one block and you have a quilt. The size of the
block varies from 45" to 56". Some look complicated but are quite easy.
I think I'm really going to enjoy both books as they both have lots of stars
which I am into right now. If you don't have these books, check them out
at your library if you can. I think they are worth it.

How about you? Any new books? Maybe we can keep this thread going to
add our newly acquired books.
just received a new "thimbleberries quilting a patchwork garden"from y best friend! haven't had a chance to even look at it yet,but know i'll love it ! she is SO good to me, kept encouraging me to start quilting after my dh died in '01. i'm SO glad she did !what would we do w/o our friends ? my bf came yesterday bearing gifts !!!a beautiful twin size quilt in perfet condition, a table runner that is pretty stained,& a heart wall hanging.all hand pieced & quilted !!!am washing them now they were pretty musty ,but beautiful ! his dd was THROWING THEM OUT !!! i was thrilled!, esp that he thought of me. i'm very lucky to have found someone like him.he's now trying to make me a table ext.[he's not a handyman, but is willing to try anything i ask.can't ask more than that !!!!
