My hubby bought me Better Homes and Gardens "Complete Guide to Quilting" It has EVERYTHING. I call it my bible. All the pages are laminated, easy to read, everything you ever asked about quilting!! I would recommend this to anyone...it's fabulous (price not bad either 32.00) You would need 10 books to cover what's in here.

I just got Great American Quilts book 9. About 9 months ago there was a posting of a "Yin Yang" quilt that the poster's late mother had made. I loved it and asked her about the pattern. She was able to tell me who the designer was. I contacted the designer and she only offered the instructions in workshops and classes in the Pacific Northwest but told me another quilter had also created this same design and published the pattern in this book. I bought it used on line the shipping cost as much as the book but it still only cost me $7 even with the shipping. That is about what I would pay for a stand alone pattern. Which is good because it is the only pattern in the book I really like. So yet another quilt to add to the "bucket list".

I added a Hawaiian Applique book and just finished my first Hawaiian needleturn 18" block. Bought several FQ to continue working through the book. It has the mini patterns as well as the larger ones, and lots of leaf patterns as well. I am starting to learn the joy of hand sewing as it gives me 'quiet time'.

I've added a LOT lately but mostly through purchasing used ones. The only one that was purchased new has been Carol Doak's Mariners Compass Stars.
Used: Carol Doak's 50 Fabulous Stars, The Civil War Diary Quilt both bought at a wonderfully reduced price from a friend. And I got fabric for the first one--all the state flowers in fabric. With the second one I got a whole bag of CW fats.
Also used: Quick Easy Projects for the Weekend Quilter, Thimbleberries Big Book of Quilt Blocks, Patchwork Minus the Mathwork, Thimbleberries Pint Size Traditions, 3x5 1/2=Quilts, American Patchwork Quilts, Candy Coated Christmas, Circle of Love Companion Book, 7-8 Lay Them Straight, Garden Glory, Sunshine and Shadows, Firm Foundations, Quick Watercolor Quilts, More Fat Quarter Quilts, Kansas City Scrapbook, Stir Crazy, Royal Stars of the States, and 54 quilt magazines. All of these were bought at a garage sale yesterday for only $25!
These were just this week's purchases. Yes, I'm an addict. I may go back to that garage sale today.
