What sends you back to your favorite LQS?

Within walking distance. Exercise and shopping!
Large and well laid out.
Good variety. Always has whatever pops into my head while I'm there. Amazingly.
Competitive prices but I don't care about that. I'm only frugal over other people's hobbies.
Good balance of nice and cranky. I like a little of both.
Smart and helpful.
Doesn't smell like mold. Isn't dusty. Achoo!
Has never made an anti-military statement to me.
Doesn't get annoyed when you've obviously made a purchase online.
I've now jinxed them with praise. They will be closing any second, I'm sure. Honestly, I can't believe they're still in business. I started using them for home decor and non-quilt projects years ago. Now that I've caught up with their actual purpose, poof!

actually there are quite a few,I am lucky they are all about 1 mile from where I live but only one is oopen on Sunday

actually there are quite a few,I am lucky they are all about 1 mile from where I live but only one is oopen on Sunday

Desert Debbe
there is Quilt BAsket on Tanque Verde,Quilters MArket on Speedway, Bella Quilts on Broadway in Tucson,then in Green Valley Hearts and Hands(?)
in Sauhuartia there is one off a dirt road called Cotton Patch(?)
up north closer to you there are 2 in catalina and one on North oracle,of course then there is Sierra Vista,we have lots of them available to us

Quilts on Plum Lane in Dade City, Florida is a very nice shop.
All the employees are very friendly - many of them greet me by name - even though we're snowbirds and I'm not one of their big spending customers.
The prices are in the mid-range of quilt shop prices.
The previous shop (that had some of the same employes as the "new" shop) tended to run higher on their prices and the times I went in, I felt like I was either an intrusion or ignored. The "old" employees are ever so much nicer at the "new" place. Must be the change of owners and location that made such a difference.
They are all very willing to help with selection of fabrics, etc., although I generally prefer to select my own.
I recommend this shop.

Hey thanks for all the great answers! I posted this just after midnight and 18 hours later there are 25 replies. You know we as customers just want to be treated with courtesy and respect.

I basically have the same likes and dislikes.
If ppl are friendly that's very important.
Have to have a nice, easy to get to potty...mandatory, lol!
Quality fabrics, and wide variety...I take a long time, when I go shopping, and really check stuff out...I'm talking hours :mrgreen:
Parking lot is almost as important as the bathroom.
If I don't feel safe, probably won't go back there.
That's pretty much it, I guess.
Good service, and I am loyal...bad service...strange music...story there...uh uh! :roll:

I like a quilt shop that is friendly, well stocked, and versatile because we don't all like the same fabrics. Also, willing to help without making the customer feel uncomfortable. I have difficulties putting fabrics together sometimes and need help; when I ask it is because I really want it. A couple places have made the comment that everyone has their own tastes and they don't like helping to select fabrics for someone else. Well, duhh.....that is what I am here for!!!!!!! Needless to say, don't go back to those places; or the ones who still have the same fabrics they had 3 yrs. ago without adding to their stock.
