My Sister sent me a bunch of fat quarters and a jelly roll in a suprize package. Now she doesn't sew at all and thinks i can do most anything with a machine. Any way, i opened said package-most of it is colors that i will use-navy purple black cream. And then i got to the jelly roll lol. I had decided that I would like to try the striptwist quilt on Quitlville. So got out the jelly roll. It is brown flowers, pink and white paisley, lime green brown paisley and a combination strip. OMG!!!! My sister has impecable taste most of the time-this time it was all in her mouth. I will post pics when it is done but just might qualify for the world's ugliest quilt.

Sounds like a jelly roll I bought with those colors. At the store I thought the colors & fabric looked good. Now that I have opened it up...not too sure...& don't what I'm going to do with it.

It might not be the colors you would chose, but it might look great when it is done. One of the things I like about going to quilt retreats where there are 50 plus women, is to see the variety of quilt projects and color combinations being used. I have seen some pretty stunning quilts that weren't made with colors that I would picked out.

It sounds as though she meant well. For the jelly roll - it might turn out neater than you think.

If you really don't like it, see if someone wants to trade with you.

I thought jelly rolls are usually from a single line of fabric, so it's all coordinated. Please make sure to show us pictures.

It could be she saw something made from that line of fabric and thought it was pretty. I like the idea of making something with it and sending it back to her as a present. I did that with my sister and she was thrilled!

Make it up and if you really don't care for it donate it--someone will love it.

Are you sure she didn't just send them cause she loved you and did not know what you might need to put in your stash? I know that my children and my family do that sometimes. JFTHO it.

Sounds like two different color combinations. Do you have fabric in your stash to finish using colors which belong with each other?
That is alot of work if the quilt colors are not compatible.

You could always use the jelly roll to make a donation quilt. You never know, it may turn out nice.
