Default What would you combo this happy, multi colored floral fabric with?

I'm stumped!

This is by Sevenberry for Kaufman from the Petite Flowers collection. The design is called Flower Bunch and this is the red colorway

As you can see it is zesty, bight, and happy. I'd love to use it for a quilt but I'm having a hard time figuring out what to combo it with...

White would work but seems uninspired (it also shows muddy pawprints). My next thought was a deep grey but then I felt that might look disconcertingly drab, even in a small dose.

Anyone want to weigh in with a suggestion? The fabric is so gorgeous and a really want to make something with it-- I'm just clueless!

Beautiful fabric! I like the darker green in the fabric which would look nice next to the fabric or even the paler coral color in the fabric. Both would be complementary.

I would take it to a quilt shop and audition some solids next to it so you can see what works for you

I would use some of the greens with it.

I'm with Jane . You have so many colors to choose from. Try different solids. On first glance, I thought the greyish green was classy, but if you think dull, how about the magenta ?

I think it would look great with a silvery gray. Audition several in a store to see what a difference there is between different grays.

If all else fails, it would make a heck of a backing!

I would tone the fabric down by using either the deep burgundy in the flowers or the greens. I agree with auditioning the fabric at the quilt store for the right one. It really is the only way to be sure. Good luck it is a beautiful fabric.

What quilt pattern are you thinking of? I did a pineapple quilt with a similar floral and it came out great.
