We are doing the same thing we have done for the last 4 years....a nice vacation in the sun, on a beach where its warm in February away form the Northeast for 2 weeks..... we dont do much for Christmas since our boys are grown and have homes of their own. We have a few gifts we exchange and a wonderful meal and time together.
I used to go all out at this time of the year but scaled down more and more each year and enjoy the holidays alot more now!! Maybe someday when we have some Grandchildren things will change again.

I'm going to ask for 2 days per week uninterrupted for sewing and quilting. Brad has never been one to sit still and retirement is a bit too slow for him - 2 days on the golf course, 2 days caring for the yard & garden. He's always jumping in and doing floors, bathrooms.

Just reading these posts about family issues makes me so sad. My wish for everyone is happy holidays with no strife, and lots of grand-baby time if you have grandchildren. As far as quilting things go, I asked for 36 Copic pens to paint a new quilt with (not made yet). Just got the Anita Goodesign pattern "Prayer Garden" and it suggests painting all the redwork items with Copic markers. Has anyone made this pattern yet? I can't wait to get started!
