99% of my quilts are blue. I'm working on that! Leaning towards teal as my new favorite color. I like modern, contemporary quilts. Since I've been reorganizing my stash onto magazine boards, I'm getting inspired for "next" projects. I love seaside theme fabrics.

I tend to prefer making improv or modern quilts from scraps and crumbs with plenty of open space left for quilting so I can do some intricate quilting in them. I also enjoy making art quilts with a lot of layering, thread painting and texture. If I had to define a style for my quilts other than art quilts, I’d call most of them controlled scrappy. I do make other types of quilts as well, and will often follow a pattern or take a class when I want to learn a new technique, but the quilts that are my own design lean more toward nature inspired art quilts and controlled scrappy modern improv with lots of quilting.

Although I love looking at intricately pieced quilts done by others, I find that I don’t enjoy making them.

I am most assuredly a traditionalist as far as patterns. I seem to be locked into scrappy for colors. I love gem tones but don't have a single quilt of my own that is of that color way. Even my avatar that is modern in concept and gem tone in color was given away. Now I wish I had it back! But bottom line, I thrive on traditional patterns and scrappy or guided scrappy colors.

Good question. that makes us all think about that drives our choices of patterns and colors.

I love any scrappy quilt. I get bored doing the same block over and over in the same colors. I have so many squares and strips cut, but love to do crazy quilt blocks or crumb blocks. I rarely get into my yardage except for borders and backs.

I like traditional quilts, but have done a few other kinds that I never liked as good. I always pick my colors that will go with my deco and then find the pattern. I like quilts that have at least one out standing color and match the other colors from there. It usually will give it a 3 D look. I do believe that it tell a lot about the person. Some people just throw their quilts together, other people have to have everything just perfect.

My style is more modern-ish with brighter colors. I seem to be doing more lately with blacks/grays/white adding pops of color. Last year I was into red and white. My style has evolved over the years - I started out very traditional.

I love the traditional blocks but find I will work on just about anything. Not crazy about the modern quilts. As for colors, I started with earth tones. Then I ventured into the repro fabrics ( which I did not like). Now they are some of my favorites. I have sewn with such a variety that it is hard for me to make scrap quilts. You can’t put CW with 30’s with children’s. Oh the dilemma. I better sort them out and get busy

Don't have a style me thinks....actually, I have trouble remembering who designed the fabrics I use....same with clothes...definitely not into designer anything...I do some traditional type patterns, I am actually doing mostly things from my stash these last few years. I am having fun. The things I make are useful, don't get into art quilts very much but I do have a whole cedar chest full of table toppers and wall hanging quilts...go figure. My house is covered with fabric items that I have made myself from quilts, to fabric bowls, dog blankets, table toppers, bags, cross stitch and crewel wall hangings, crochet dishrags, scarfs, knit hats, etc. guess I just like making stuff. Had a blast a year ago just making up lap sized quilts from scrap flannels...made rail fence pieces, nine patches, four patches, whatever and stitched them together sometimes with a set pattern, sometimes just what I had left.

Not sure I have a style exactly, but have strong feelings about color. I don't have a traditional bone in my body - so although I may use a traditional pattern, it will be contemporary when I'm finished with it.

Good question and hard for me to answer so I looked at my word doc showing pic of quilts from the internet. Guess I like bright colors, (should have just looked at my precut stash). Most of the quilts I make do not have "lined up sashing" meaning rows or columns may be off set by half a block. Guess that's called nontraditional?
