My all time favorite is a Rival I bought at Walmart for $9.99 (I actually paid $7.99 - it was on sale). It's hotter than most, doesn't have the auto shut-off, is super lightweight and is small enough to haul to class!!!!

I have a Black and Decker Digital Advantage. The leaky Rowenta is in the closet. Use the search function and there will be many, many other recommendations.

I have a shark which I love. I am currently working on a log cabin quilt. I asked here what the thoughts of using a travel iron. I have one which is smaller then a reg iron, so you might want to try one.

Best kind of iron for anything is the kind that doesn't turn itself off! Mine really, really irritates me! I'm on a mission to find one without auto shutoff.

Wow! I just purchased this little iron at JoAnn's a few days ago, it was regular $29.00 but with coupon it was $15.00, I'm anxious to give it try with a quilt-as-you-go table runner.

I recently bought the smaller of the two shark irons to replace the 15 year old oddlots 5.00 iron I dropped and broke, I absolutly love it, it gets very hot and if you use steam it is unbeleivable. It was around 20 bucks.

Unless you are sending the Rowenta to be repaired, why don't you use it as a dry iron and save the expense of buying a new iron?

I like my "expensive" Shark (comparatively) but use a cheapo for fusible so I don't mess it up.
