I really like the Masterpiece line by Superior Threads.

I'm another Aurifil user--I love it for piecing. I mostly use 2600 (a light gray) or a light tan (can't remember that number off the top of my head). It is a very strong fine thread.

I've been using the Connecting Threads Cones, but I'm thinking of ordering some Aurifil. Even though I clean out the bobbin area almost every time I switch bobbins, the sewing machine repairman scolded me last week. There was so much lint in the top part of the machine that the needle bar wouldn't slide. He told me that if I use my machine a lot, I needed to have it cleaned at least once a year. He was pretty surprised when I told him only bought it 7 months ago!

The older machines have outside threading so the lint has a place to go in the air other then the inside. I use all brands on my vintage machines. For my newer machines I use Aurifil or Wonderfil.

I like Presencia 60 wt/3 ply for piecing as it is finer and seams lay flatter.
