who went to Joanns today?

I behaved myself. I bought a 3 1/2" square up ruler, 2 yards of clearance skull fabrics for the skull quilt for my youngest son, 8 yards of special order fabric, using my 50% off coupon (they didn't have enough of the space fabric in stock for the kaleidoscope quilt I want to make for my oldest) and some green fat quarters for a paper piecing project I'm doing and I didn't have enough variety of happy green colors. I have lots of dreary ones but not nearly enough of the happy, bright ones.
Oh and a can of spray basting. My can was down to just about nothing....
I'm proud of myself for behaving!

OMG, these are the sales i look forward to, I bought 4 yards of Batman fabric, for two pillowcases and pj's for my two youngest grandsons, they both just love Batman, the fabric was on sale for 30% off, I had used this same fabric to make curtains for their room. I also bought quilting pins and needles, flannel, yarn for a swap, and i was happy with the out come.

I don't know about everyone else but I am getting very disappointed in JoAnn's quality and I talked to another quilter at our local AG Fair yesterday and she said the same. Things like the Roc Lon muslin backing, which used to be pretty nice, is now very thin and has a lot of imperfections in it. I use Warm and Natural batting but I looked at the Pellon batt - what a waste! It was uneven, a LOT of thin spots, etc. AND it was $10/yard!!! Also they only have the same old fabrics every time from Keepsake - they don't seem to vary the collections. Prices on Warm and Natural have gone through the roof although that may not be JoAnn's fault but the rest is getting worse. I love to handle fabric before i buy it which is why I limit my buying on line, and the JoAnn coupons are good, but I am reconsidering. Also its funny that when they provide their coupons for 40 or 50% percent off, regular priced items only, you can NEVER find anything in the quilting department that isn't on sale so you can't use the coupons!!!!
