A whole pint of buttons!

My 20 yr. old DGD just requested a quilt made in all plaids, so I hit the thrift store on 50 cent day and got a herd of mens shirts in all shapes and sizes of plaids. It's a real challenge to come up with a pattern that will showcase them without giving one a headache when looking at it. LOL

Recently, on this site, I saw where someone had used the button plackets of shirts as inner narrow borders and looked very nice. Good luck with your quilt. I have my mother's clothes to do something with someday.

What do you all think of using PINK as the main fabric. Any other colors that you think will go nicely?

I like the idea of pink, with the shirt colors it would have a shabby chic kind of feel to it.
I have my dad's shirts which I am cutting up and I am saving the button plackets to braid together to make a rag rug. I like them because they have finished edges. I'm always reading pioneer books and the ladies tore their rags into strips for braiding.
Good luck.
