I enjoy hand stitching the binding. It is relaxing and I get to cuddle with the quilt before it goes to its final home. Besides my Mother does it this way and told me to do it this way, being a good daughter, I do as she says.lol

I like the look, and my hands just cannot do the hand sewing :D:D:D
Ditto! My fingers get tingly when I do too much hand work!

I have tried on several quilts for my own use and when I turned them over the stitching was not exactly along the edge and I hated it ti the point I unstitched it and hand stitched it back. I like tHe look of no stitching showing front or back.

I always hand stitch to the back because I like the old fashioned look and I enjoy hand sewing the binding using the ladder stitch.

God gave us machines to sew with, that's why I sew everything by machine!! My hands gave out a long
time ago and my machines are still going strong,
besides when the machines wear out I can replace
them with another one, but I can't replace my hands!!

I blind stitch my binding and always have. I like the look and prefer not to mess with the machine for this part but I really enjoy hand sewing.

I hand stitch the binding to the back. Once I learned the ladder stitch on youtube.com I am proud of my stitching and love the look. It is so fast with this stitch!

I have done both and I think the hand stitched binding looks better.

I sew to the front and hand sew to the back I just like the look better, but if I ever get to where I can't I'll do the machine
stitching.

I agree. I always hand stitch my binding down. I spent yesterday machining the binding onto 5 quilts of varying sizes, now ready to be hand stitched which I do in the evenings while watching TV. It is a relaxing time for me.
