Don't know. I finished the applique and embroidery on a 1930's Dresden Plate quilt for a friend and sashed it with a rich, buttery yellow. (There was yellow in some of the patches.) The group that quilted it did NOT like the yellow when they put it in the frame but when finished thought it looked quite nice.

Yellow is good to use in moderation with colors like cobalt blue and deep pink. By itself it's too harsh.

I love yellow and blue and do not find it to be too girly. If fact my yellow and blue quilt was the inspiration to hubby and my bedroom.

Lovely room, perfect yellow quilt. What fabric is in the purple wall-hanging? Both so nice with the crisp white furniture.
