A couple of years ago I looked into entering one of my quilts in the local county fair. I have the perfect quilt to enter but I didn't get it in on time. The local fair grounds and organizers provided me with the rules and that was not to difficult. When COVID is out of the way I will pursue it more. I would be checking into things now for next summer so you can meet all the requirements of you local organizers.

One thing they look for in every quilt is the binding. This is in our neck of the woods, of course, but I have also read it was standard rule in the big quilt shows. The binding has to be filled and hand stitched to the back. That can be accomplished by using the french binding method and after sewing binding on, trim around the edges leaving a quarter inch of batting so when you fold it to the back to stitch, the binding is automatically filled,
