I have never seen fusible thread. I've also just found out about wash away thread. That's why I love this board.

Hand sewing binding to back-- I use wonder clips because they have markings so it's easy to keep it even and no more gettin stuck by pins!

I'd like to see pictures on some of these procedures.

I am a bit different with my binding. I machine sew on front and hand sew on back. My stitches can be seen, it's the only stitch I know, and too old to change. I pin, and take each on out as I sew close to it.

I like the hair clips better than the wonder clips or pins

I don't use anything. I try to make the binding the same fabric/color as the back. I then sew the binding on the back first, bring it up over and just hold it in place while I sew on the top several inches at a time. I have never had a problem and always sew my binding on this way. Years ago I used to sew on the front and bring it over to the back and hand sew it. I don't do it that way anymore. I've had problems with my hands and elbows so I choose to put the bindings all on by machine and save my hands for applique or redwork.
