A friend and I are going to Branson and I am in the process of finding quilt shops along the way. The last time the 2 of us went on vacation the first I bought was fabric. She walked in the store and was asking did I really buy MORE FABRIC ? The store owner was in disguise as she quickly replied Is she Breathing???

My idea of a 12 step program would only involve 12 quilt blocks, Three disappearing 4 patch blocks or any quilted calendar with a 12 quilt blocks again and so forth.
You won't find it in the AMA Journals but there are a whole lot of people who are afflicted with it. Most are yet to be diagnosed and suffer daily in silence. Their only relief is to give in and buy more. The alternative would be a 12 step program and most of those have failed. How do I know this? Hi, My name is Shirley and I have a fabric addiction.

I can not put the word need in any sentence followed by the words fabric, thread, batting, sewing supplies or sewing machines. If I didn't love all things stitch related, I would not be a member of this board. We might as well admit it. All of this stuff is probably more than just a hobby with us. It is what gives our life that spark and enjoyment. For me it has always been my sanity saver and a wonderful way to calm down, breathe and relax and in our busy lives, we all need that. I don't feel guilty about my "stitching stuff" or feel that I have to explain it to anyone. Quilters already understand and others just don't get it anyway. It doesn't damage my health or harm anyone else so I think it's all ok. It's part of who I am and what I do. The bonus in all of this is that I make some really nice things which make great gifts to share with others!

I don't feel at all guilty; I'm pretty frugal, in all other things. I'm not a clothes or shoe hound. I don't buy tons of make-up or jewelry. I don't smoke and I only rarely buy a bottle of wine (or coconut rum). I don't take fancy vacations. Instead, I buy fabric and use it to make quilts. Dang! I sound downright virtuous!

The sales fabric is under the Special Offers tab. If you shop the brands you know, you can't go wrong.
