it does seem to be quite common for them to be off...sometimes creative cutting can minimize how noticable it is. 1/4" isn't bad at all, should be able to straighten that, i've had them be off as much as 2"!

I try to remember to check the grain lines before buying fabric now.
Along with that, I try to remember to check to see if a horizontal stripe or design follows a thread or if it wanders off. One-fourth inch "offness" over the width of a fabric is comparatively "good"
The older I get, the less inclined I am to fight with something that is very wonky.
(My family is sufficiently "wonky" to deal with)

I wish I had had this info a week or so ago, I had purchased a panel, like the one of funky cats a lady on a previous thread has just shown, it was printed well out of true over 1/4", I had to cut out the cats individually and it has been a nightmare with lots of waste. Though infact looks okay now I guess.The online shop said this was fairly usual. Should have asked you for advice but didn't think there was an answer.
