Wool pressing mat? Used one?
Discussed on this thread, along with alternatives that cost much less. No mention of lifespan, but I really can't see them wearing out. I don't use one. I have an old wool army blanket under my ironing board cover that works quite well.

I don't have a wool pressing mat. I have been told they are amazing. I had ordered one but it is on backorder. Someone on here made a large ironing station and topped it with a large wool pad. I was planning on ordering it, Cheap and easy pressing/worktable

Wool has a smell, reminds me of the fairgrounds. LOL Doesn't bother me. Brings back memories of going to the fair with my kids. It's not overpowering and I only smell a few whiffs of it when I am pressing. I use linen setting on a 1800 watt iron but most recommends wool setting.
