I agree...some of them were ok, but I still won't enter any of mine in a show.

Ok now I feel soooooo much better about the one that ended up being for one of my pooches after seeing some of these.... long story short, do NOT put something away for 2+ years that's half done, without at least a note to remind you which pattern you were sewing and which blocks are actually "squared up"

Loved 'em. Made me smile. What a unique site, not only the photos, but the write-ups were awsome.

Looks like most of the problems began from the star. Then they washed the quilts and made things even worse. I knew there was a valid reason not to wash any of my quilts.... :D Otherwise, I might win one of those contests.

I'm afraid to wash mine too. I have visions of the seams all coming apart because the fabric edges frayed real bad.

I am so glad yall liked them. I couldn't sleep last night and stumbled across that and had to share. I can't imagine how some of them got the way they are. They are so amazingly awful!!!!

OK confession time!!!! I actually own one of the 1972 polyester quilts they speak of. My Aunt in NC asked me what I wanted for my wedding and I told her a quilt. I should have been much more specific. I got a "Around the World in plastic" Multi colored hand pieced quilt top. I have never had the level of boredom required to finish it. But bless her soul My dear dear Aunt tried.

I don't understand?????? With all the projects that are unfinished and with the little time I have, why would I continue working on a wonky quilt, let alone "finish" it and then send it somewhere to be ugly-judged?

They are good for a laugh though.

The rubber backed fabric must have been used around the mid-section of the quilt to guard against bed wetters...

My moms first quilt could have been entered into this.
    1. None of her seams lined up.
    2. She didn't put borders on.
    3. She didn't use any batting.
    4. There were puckers throughout the entire quilt because she used old clothes for fabric (denim, cotton, silk) you name it, she used it. Even an old curtain.

I think she gave it to my sister for a gift. I wish I had it now, but my sister threw it away or used it for a dog blanket for awhile and then threw it away.
