I like No. 1 as it complements the batiks and lets them take center stage, while the white pops and the batiks don't shine as much. Gorgeous fabric by the way, but I'm partial to batiks. Look forward to seeing what you decide.

I like 1. I also like golden brown against the beige and the chocolate against the beige.

#1 blends the best but #2 really make the batiks stand out

    I totally agree!
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, WINE IN THE OTHER, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, what a ride!"

I like #2 because the pattern in #1 is too pronounced. Also, the pale blue makes it pop as others have said. JMHO

I have to chime in here and say I like the second one best since it does pop your block rather than blend.

I like #2 best as (IMO) will make the pattern move. The first one is nice too, but I like brighter with more movement in my quilts. You are still going to have a problem deciding as so many votes for both. Good luck on what you decide. Either one will make an awesome quilt.

I vote the soft yellow print. It makes the contrast a less "shocking" contrast. I made a Trade Winds as a baby quilt. Fun and liked the results.

I definitely like the first, yellow print. It works much better with the colors you have chosen.

I totally agree with alikat... the warmth of 1 appeals the most but the cool 2 would work if that is the look and effect you are going for.

I think 1 blends better, 2 contrasts more, both are pretty.

I really think #2 is the way to go. It looked to me to be very neutral when next to your other batiks. It doesn't draw my attention away from the batiks like #1 did.

I really like #1. Both are nice but #1 is a much warmer contrast.
