I just quilted a quilt with ocher (yellowish) thread on top and red thread on the bottom. Almost every stitch has a tiny spot of red showing. I love the look. Maybe it will break, but I love it now. I'm leaving it.

It looks like you have been caught by the swoop factor as you went around some of those curves. I used to have that problem of a tendency toward speeding up around the curves. make a special effort to keep an even speed as you go around.
As far as taking it out-- it bugged you enough to ask so you probably will not be happy unless you do take it out.

I wouldn't rip. (It is, after all the back.) Try massaging the seam a little to ease part of the excess back into the batting. Could your bobbin tension be too tight?

NO! Don't rip it out! You run the risk of making little holes here and there. It looked fine to me. She will think that is the way you wanted it. Blessings.

Don't point the eyelashing out to the mother, or say "if it falls apart".......be positive! Let her be thrilled with the quilt without any "downers". And then you can say to her quietly at some point, if at any point she has any problems, or the quilt needs any repairs, you're more than willing to do that. When you don't point out what you consider to be flaws, 99% of the time, no one else notices it. I think the FMQ you've done is A-1! We learn and improve as we go along.

I am so glad that I logged on this area today. I have had stitches like this at times and it is heart breaking, especially, when one is doing such a good job. I see that some said you are going to fast on the curve. I learned that myself and they are right. I also know that deep down in your heart you will remember those stitches forever. So, get going on take it apart and enjoy the redoing. I am sure you will be happy. That young girl will love this quilt forever and you need to make yourself feel good too. Please show again. I also have a problem with adjust the tensions but in time you will be fine.

I have made these small eyelashes disappear by very carefully pulling the backing and the top apart and also working the dark colored thread by pulling it so it does not show on the backing. Now I almost always use a variegated thread that blends or works with both the top and backing. It does happen because of pushing to fast on the curves..my first quilting had large eyelashes and had to be removed and done over

I would not rip it out. I would just wash it. I think some of the tension issues will balance out with all that washing and drying.

IMHO It is almost impossible not to have small dots of the top thread showing. My solution is to use invisible thread on the top so the little dots do not show through.
