    maybe I'm the dissenting voice but I have also used pink--just a touch and not pastel--in boys' quilts and never received a complaint. After all, there are not two color wheels based upon gender, are there? if you're mixing a lot of brights a touch of pink will not overwhelm or overpower the total.

    Babies don't see alot of colors, babies don't know colors, babies don't know if they are boy or girl! Just let your self have fun!

    Add the purple. It sounds wonderful to me. I have added purple to my grandsons quilt. Just not flowery fab. Purple is his fav color. He loves that quilt by the way.
