Dedicated Quilters
In 2010, dedicated quilters report spending a total of nearly $2.5 billion.
Yeah, I think I've already spent that much so far this year. :D

Well, I'm younger and I spend less money, but I am definitely dedicated, addicted, and even obsessed with quilting. And I spend WAY too many hours on this and other quilting sites every week. I could get so much more done if I would sew instead of compute!!

I don't fit their definition, but if you could see my den right now, it looks like a dedicated quilter to me  Too hot in my sewingroom. ac in there broke. so I have moved to the den  there are 3 quilts in different stages in here, and all the material that goes with them. I do have a stash, but I do not over spend, no really I don't :-D I have caught myself talking about quilting to a non-quilting friend, only to look up and see her eyes glazed over  I clean my house, when my shoulders are too tired from sewing , and I need a short break :-D I have been known to end up in tears, because the border I spend all day planning, and sewing, is 1 inch too short  I have worn out at least 6 seam rippers.
NO, I am not dedicated, not in the least :-D

I thought so, too. I wonder if it has anything to do with Simply Quilts being taken off the air. That was my first thought on that curious statistic.

I am a dedicated quilter, according to them anyway. I was when I started and didn't have enough time or money and found a way to quilt anyway. Being a dedicated quilter isn't linked to how much you spend. It's how much of yourself you put into the craft.

I wondered if it had to do with the economy, and people being laid off. So many of their statistics have to do with money...

I thought I was a dedicated quilter until I read the article. According to them I am not. Oh well.
