Depends on what I'm working on, it took me (is taking me) almost 6 months to make SIL's rag quilt, because I started it without the pattern (I saw the quilt in LQS) and the shop owner told me not to use onsaberg as the pattern called for so I used batting and ended up having to cut excess out after piecing together :( :( but I made a table runner and 4 round placemats for my mother in a half a day.

I am a fast sewer. When I worked for a shop that sold Berninas and did custom dressmaking and alterations my boss would often push the halfspeed button on my machine. I guess the years I worked in a medical lab where we were always rushing to finish the tests before the next load of work arrived has stuck with me for life. I once made a full sized bed quilt from fabric to finished handquilting in 5 weeks.

I am a slow sewer. Easily distracted. I do a few seams then look out window, watch tv get a snack then back to sewing. It takes me forever to do a quilt. I recently finished my sewing room. My husband did a great job in fixing the room. New cherry cabinets(we got on great discount), a floor that is quilt pattern and new custom built shelves. I finally got every thing put in place. I will try to get some pictures to post. Going to try to sew today.

Well. I keep coming back to my computer. I like games, my email. Especially this message board. Have to keep checking in! Then I never know when my DH will be home, then I have to cook. Sometimes I am slow to get to that! Last night I looked at the clock and it was after 7:00! OOOOOps. He just finds something to do when I am quilting, cause he knows I will eventually get around to it. If not he will remind me.

I also have to add to the above post that I too have various other things that get in the way of my finishing this quilt. Veggie garden that needs weeding, helping hubby paint inlaws house. He does not like to paint and I do. Find it relaxing. There is laundry and dusting things like that. When I take a break I work on stitching together more squares, and when I watch tv at night. It will get done by the end of August. Keeping fingers crossed.
