Today I worked on a table runner for a friend of mine. Her table is 5 ft long and 11" wide. She wants the runner to be the length of the table. I am using a star block that measures 8" finsihed and the runner takes 7 blocks. I am using a 1 1/2" border on it. Colors are cranberry and a cream that has a small cranberry print.

I'm sewing the binding down on a twin size quilt that is for DGD and her DH. It's slow going but each time a get to a corner I feel I'm getting to the finish line soon. May in Jersey

MelodyWB: What is the name of your bargello? That is so neat.
I have not done anything except eat and watch TV because I am recuperating with a minisicus tear in my knee and had a cortisone treatment. Amazing how much you use your right foot sewing.
    I can't play golf for a while.

Hello All and thanks for asking Craftingbear. I just finished a table cloth (36"square) for my porch patio table that is 26" sq. and over the weekend I was on QB and found out about 'Mug Rugs!' they are awesome!! And from the sizes represented, they are perfect for this size table. I am going to make mine 7x9 1/2". (the average was around this size) I wanted to make "something" for when we have ice filled drinks for when they sweat and help keep the table cloth I'd made dry. (hopefully) So when I came across Mug Rugs it was perfect. The material I am using is from the scraps that I made the chair cushions and back cushions. So it will all coordinate! The cushions are a dark green and the backs are a floral of mauve and green. (please don't ask for pics - I don't know how to get my pics from camera to computer yet - maybe one day!!

I didn't have anything going on today. We just kind of vegged out. I worked on a quilt for a guy at work who's retiring. I had all the pieces done, so I just needed to put all blocks together to make the quilt. Then I have to do a mitered border with this fabric that has a pattern and stripes that will serve as a small border next to the blocks.

I sure hope I can do the mitering without screwing it up. We'll see. Happy 4th everybody.

No sewing yet, but pressing a lot of fabrics that I found in storage. Made up a box of fabrics to donate to the Senior Center. Did my dishes, completely! Now I'm beat.

Getting ready to straight stitch quilt a Plain Spoken quilt. I'll be using my vintage Singer 201k in treadle. I just finished fixing dinner for all of the family.

    Happy 4th!
