Jnct14 - the gloves do help a lot. I have tried many but my faorite is the machinger gloves. Thin and very grippy. Worth trying it.

anyone hear from the other march birthday ladies? I sent mine in early part of the month.

Below is the link for the Baker's Dozen quilt from McCall's.
You may have to fiddle with it - the block centers are 6.5" wide but I was thinking you could make the block centers from 15 of the candy squares - 3 across and 5 down which would be 7.5" wide so you would have to adjust the rest of the measurements - but its a pretty simple pattern. http://www.mccallsquilting.com/conte...er_s_Dozen.pdf

I love the Film at Five and Coins quilts. I am working on a braided one using the 60 degree template that everyone will be getting and I will post pictures. My only puzzlement (and this applies to all patterns with small patches and lots of seams) is how do you quilt them? I am thinking about FMQing up the middle of the braids with some modification of feathers or spirals but I am worried it will be too stiff because of all the seams or worse, too busy.

carrot love your film at five quilt. Makes me want to lock myself in my sewing room and go go go go. But alas I must work to feed my habit and have been busy these last few weeks. Hoping to get in there and do some serious sewing soon.

It's called "chicklets" by Brandi. I think I got it free from Simply Quilts when Brandi was a guest........I have had it for a while !!. I need new batteries for my camera and then I will take pictures of my homemade envelopes and what I have finished so far on the king size quilt.

I have 4 more blocks to sew and then I can start assembling my "Chicklets". Mine will be a large queen. Didn't put much a dent in my scraps. Think I will start referring to my scraps as rabbits because they are multiplying like rabbits while I sleep. Unless someone is sneaking in my house and leaving their scraps here! LOL

Just type "free chicklets quilt pattern" in the search bar and it will come up several times. Or go to the top of this page and type chicklets in that white box behind the chat button. Wish I knew how to do a short url to make it really simple for you but I don't. Loud Sigh

Nothing in the mail today......wanda lou, I even went through the envelopes again looking for one with a cute sticker you mentioned. If you want you could pm me your return address and I'll check it that way. It is impossible to read most of the stamp cancellations.
