Hello ladies...
Just wanted to let you know that I took my class at my quilt shop and had a great time. There were only 3 of us in the class and I got a lot done. I sat in someone's chair but they did not show up and kick me out so I guess all is well.
So the quilt I made was a mystery quilt. The directions said "bring 30 ..6 1/2" neutral color squares. 30 neutral color 2 1/2" squares and a bag full of 2 1/2" scrappy squares.
So I did. ( I have much more than a bag full of squares) SO we sat and sewed the first step, then we sewed the second step then we were to add step 1 to step 2. and I didn't like it I pretended in the class that I did. But when I got home I sat and starred at it. Thought it was pretty darn scary. Worse part is I used my sweet candy squares.
So the next day (Sunday) I got together with my quilting friends (we are making a quilt for a friend who is moving) and showed them my squares that is the look I got. (step 1 and 2 are not sewn together yet) So I sat there playing with my squares and changed up step 2 (the ugly step-sister to step 1) and they all said hey I like that . So on Wednesday one of my quilting buddies is going to help me figure out how to do the new step 3! So if this works out I will show you all a picture. If not I gonna vote the ugly step-sister off the island!
to be continued........

Oh dear, Barb... that's the thing about mystery quilts. You just never know what you are going to get. Now I'm really curious to see how you fix it. Please do show pictures when you get it together.
I did a small mystery quilt on New Year's Day with the Quiltbug.com site... didn't really love the pattern on that, either. I used a roll of I Spy strips I got in a swap and once it was quilted it did look cute. Some child will enjoy it, I'm sure.
Bonnie Hunter's latest mystery quilt turned out beautifully, but the one she did last year was a real disappointment to many of the people who made it. You just never know.
