Oh yes a mermaid! I was thinking of a mermaid too judith. Maybe we will both do it? There are enough people in the swap to handle both of us right?

Here is the second block, an easy does it sail boat. I loved this background fabric so it was the inspiration for this block. Reminds me of the water sking days I used to spend with my friends and family.

Funny girls, I was thinking of a ladybug block too. But, that would be too many, right?

Oh....sew cute, Red!! I love it and the background fabric is perfect. I changed my mind on the ladybug. I think I'm going to keep it as just a pieced block because the fabric is just too cute and colorful to cover up. So go for it! Be safe too and enjoy holidays.

Sandy, great sailboats. Love them. And, the more mermaids the merrier. You know we can always use another set!

Hope you all at having a great holiday. Things are all right in my little part of the world today. Spent a lovely Christmas with DS and DH. So, yes, a very nice holiday. I can't wait to begin my blocks for this swap.

So glad you had a good holiday with family. My DH is sick so we had to postpone our holiday with DH's family. Was able to FaceTime with my mom & sister in Georgia and we opened presents together..so fun. So, other than caring and feeding for the DH today, I spent Christmas in my sewing room, listening to Christmas gospel music, and working on my swap blocks and a patriotic quilt (which I keep changing design....lol!). So, even though DH sick, it was nice not having to jump in vehicle and run across town.

I'm sorry your husband is feeling ill, Teen. Too bad he timed it on Christmas!

I got a simple designwall from Fonds and Porters for Christmas. I have never had a design wall, so I feel very spoiled. I know it's going to come in so much use when we get all our blocks back!

Thank you!! He's better just blah...and likely still contagious so he's staying put for a couple of days.

Great gift, NZ! This will definitely work wonderful for your swap blocks when designing top. I'm going to make a portable design wall this year and get the F&P one. Someone on the board had a great idea about sliding it behind the China hutch when needing to get it out of the way. This appeals to me since I don't like seeing my sewing crap lying around when I'm not actively sewing.

Teen, so sorry to hear your DH was sick during Christmas. But, am equally glad that he is on the mend. You will have to watch very carefully for a re-lapse.

NZquilter, Congrats on your Design Wall gift. I know you will enjoy it.

My "design wall" is a flannel backed heavy duty table cloth. I hang it in my studio (sunroom) with command hooks and curtain pinch clips. Works great. And, I love having it. In fact, I hung 2 of them on opposite walls. Helps to keep some of the sun out so it doesn't get too hot out there and I can switch from project to project with ease.
