Lovely addition Carrie! You know, the internet and being able to post pictures like this is so fun instead of months of silence...

Just wanted to say about my top in case I didn't before -- my goal/hope is to get something back that looks like nothing I make! I mean, I have lots of quilts that look like "me". My first idea for a center was very different, very much more "me", and very much bigger! Too big for the group. So I decided to go for something that was more open design-wise and am figuring my cat will be smack dab in the center of my square so I get to only see what's around it anyway. When I say, go for it! feel free to do so.

I think I have my actual subunits for my round just about made, last round of (2) seams to finish them just ahead. I haven't laid it out other than paper and my head and still have a couple of choices to make. Looking good so far.

In computer gaming, we have to come up with short terms for emotional situations. When you are just overwhelmed by something wonderful and cute like baskets of puppies, the correct term is "Squeee" with some variation on the number of eees. Well, when I opened up my package from Reba it was definitely a squeee. And shiny! Definitely shiny.

Carrie, love the fall addition. Everything about fall is warm and cozy and your rows fit right in. I also just sent you a PM with tracking numbers as I am headed to the post office now.

Thanks for whom ever shared that you can pay and set up USPS on line. Wonderful service. I even had a couple of boxes and envelopes (..) mailed to my home.

Carrie, this is the bottom of your center. I am so pleased with the fussy cuts and over all look... hope you like them. Planning on the corners to have more of the purple cabbages!

Bugaroo, Thanks for the update on your round. The fussy cutting is a great idea. I think this is part of what a RR is all about-- someone else adding to your center something you couldn't have added. (I agree, IceB.) How Bug bought this fabric, is cutting it, and adding it is so much fun. And it's handy-- you just sit back and watch what others do to make your quilt top for you!

Love your additions to Carrie's quilt, Bug! You got the colors just right, and that cactus fabric is wonderful when fussy cut. That quilt is looking gorgeous, so far!

I crossed names in my post.. opps.

The fix.... I mailed my center to MacyBaby not Carriem... I got the mailing correct but mixed names in my post. Sorry

Mailing note. When you pick your envelope/box online at the USPS, don't depend on the post office having the envelope/box. They only have some and not all the time. I picked the padded envelope and my post office does not carry them. But the next town over does... I went there. Lesson... order the envelopes/boxes online free to have on hand.

I knew I wanted to put Jaba's center on point - and after numerous tries I decided on a paper pieced star. I had the two florals - just enough for this - and I truly enjoyed visiting the local quilt stores until I was really happy with the light blue batik. Then I needed to get it up to 30.5" (being divisible by 3 and 6) so brought in her focus fabric which now gives the next person a clear starting point.
