AUGUST - Scrappy Block Swap – SCRAPPY TRIPS

Welcome to our new swap! The main focus, as the name suggests, is scrappy blocks hopefully from our stash. There are a bazillion scrappy quilt block ideas available. I know! I counted them! Ha! We will be using wonderful inspiration from the likes of Bonnie Hunter, Quilters Cache, Moda Bake Shop and many others. Each month I will present a pattern with a theme or color scheme and instructions.
For August, we are making Bonnie Hunter’s SCRAPPY TRIPS quilt block. We will be making a 12 ฝ” unfinished block using six 2 ฝ” strips. Here are the instructions:

    http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2005/...und-world.html

One set = 4 blocks. You may send as many as 6 sets. Please use lots of variety. Your quilt blocks DO NOT have to be the same! NOTE: with this pattern, please use a scant ผ” seam!

Please use 100% cotton, quilt shop quality fabric to make your quilt blocks. Please pay attention to the back of your quilt blocks; pressing, snipping extra threads, etc. Be sure your quilt blocks are squared up, trimmed and even.
Please PM me to sign up. Please provide:

    • QB screen name
    • Real name
    • Number of sets you are making/sending
    • Email address

After I have received all of your information I will add you to the list of swappers and PM you a message with mailing information. BE SURE to include the USPS envelope WITH POSTAGE, filled out with your mailing information, in your package to me. Set(s) of D4P quilt blocks will be due by SEPTEMBER 30TH. ** Please label each quilt block**

Mailing: please put all blocks in one large plastic baggie along with your name and address on/in the bag. This will help protect your blocks in case your package is damaged. Please use a USPS Priority Mailฎ Padded Flat Rate Envelope (9 ฝ” x 12 ฝ”), buy $5.95 in POSTAGE, put postage on your return envelope and fill out your name/address etc. This will be your return envelope so be sure to put this in your package as well!

Basic swap rules may be found here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-20154-1.htm

I've been thinking about this swap since I checked out the block. Four per set I can do! This will be fun.

I've got lots of orphaned FQ's I can use and leftover binding strips, might as well make some blocks. You really need to use a very scant 1/4" seam to get the 12 1/2". Sent you a PM, hopefully 6 sets
